This is a nice weighty towel holder and the copper is a nice change. There is no "arm" that keeps the towels from unwinding slightly like some, if that is what you prefer. Otherwise this is nice and a good cost point.The rod in the middle is not thick enough for my taste. It is not exactly what the depicted in picture. It is useable, however.Item as pictured. Arrived quickly.Met expectations.Returning this product not what was expected .The pole is supposed to be copper plated but looks gold coloredI absolutely love this free-standing, marble-base paper towel holder with a gold-plated metal pole. I have been to the Taroko Gorge in Hualien, Taiwan where this marble is mined. I could not bring any back with me then, so I am thrilled to find some of it now. The marble base on this piece measures 5 1/4" in diameter and the base and pole are 12 1/2". It is just the right height so that you can see about an inch of it above the paper towel. This paper towel holder makes an elegant statement and is very sturdy at the same time. The base and metal pole are not attached when it arrives. There is a screw on the bottom of the pole. All that is necessary is use a Phillips screw driver to remove the screw. Then use the screw to attach the base to the pole. You want to make sure that you hold firmly to the marble base when you are doing this so that you do not drop it. My pros and cons about this item are listed below:Pros: *Easy to assemble - one screw *Beautiful item with authentic marble pattern ingrained in base and gold pole shows above towels *Sturdy, upright design...will not tip easily *Very functional, makes it easy to tear paper towels *Small space footprint...only takes up 5 l/4 inches of counter space *Three non-scratch silicone "feet" attached to bottom of baseCons: *Lacks the short second "arm" that some holders have to prevent paper towel from unraveling on its ownOverall, I'm loving this new paper towel holder. It has allowed me to get rid of a frumpy looking under-the-counter one that was always unraveling. I would highly recommend this gorgeous item to anyone.The base is this is smaller than I imagined. I’m used to bigger based ones but this fits my Viva paper towels perfectly to where I can still see some on the marble base.If you have bigger rolls and you want to see the marble, then this wouldn’t be for you.Looks great and the marble is a little heavy.I absolutely love the idea of combining luxurious marble with high quality metal plating to create stylish and yet timeless functional pieces for my home. This particular one is very beautiful and functions nicely as a paper towel holder. I could also see it used alternatively in a bathroom for as a holder for a few rolls of toilet paper. This brand also makes matching mug holders which are also quite lovely. Definitely a nice product that I'd recommend to others looking for a stylish and yet functional piece to add to their home or to give as a thoughtful gift to someone else. :)
