I made this purchase because it’s arm that the roll goes on, simply lifts up. Put on a new roll and slip it down into place. I’m an older gal who lives alone and have had multiple hand and shoulder surgeries. Changing the roll was always a challenge. This is a perfect replacement and it’s beautiful, as well!Haven’t had a folding toilet paper holder before, but we’re really pleased with this. It’s a very nice appearance, doesn’t have a spring loaded holder that will launch itself into parts of the bathroom when a new toilet paper roll is needed, and looks so great with the other Kingsley pieces in our newly remodeled bathroom. It’s both sturdy and attractive.The Moen products I purchased in this line were all well-made and beautiful. They are just what I wanted.Product as described. It’s a little difficult to lift but that’s on me. Make sure your measurements are right and even then they might still be a half millimeter off- it’ll work but it might take a little breaking in. I installed this with lag bolts instead of the cheap plastic crap they always use for drywall in these kits. It’s VERY sturdy. Overall a nice bog roll keeper; thinking about getting more for the rest of the house.I think this style is great. Makes changing the paper very easy. Just lift the bar and slide the old one off and put on the new one .Everyone else has already commented on the virtues of the pivoting design. They are all right. It's awesome and you will never look back. Rather than repeat those reviews, I want to comment on why this Moen Kingsley is worth the price premium compared to other products.I purchased three different pivoting TP holders - a Moen Inspirations, a Delta Mandara, and this Moen Kingsley. While all of them look good and function well, the Moen Kingsley looks and feels so much more "rich". The first thing you notice when you take it out of the box is that it has some weight to it. It has a classical elegance that makes a subtle but also surprisingly noticeable statement in your bathroom. Honestly, it makes the room feel more luxurious. The pivot mechanism is smooth and makes a resoundingly satisfying "clank" sound when it closes.Finish - the bronze finish in the product picture is very close to what you receive. On the scale of oil rubbed bronze, Kingsley is perhaps medium-dark with some lighter accents. It is not the super dark, almost black color you sometimes see, and it is not the lighter, copper-like color you also see. IMO it is what "oil rubbed bronze" is supposed to look like. I love Moen fixtures and use them exclusively in my house, however they really need to get their act together with consistent pictures of their various finishes. Oil rubbed bronze in one collection is NOT the same as another, and their website is very inconsistent and misleading.BOTTOM LINE: this is expensive, but worth every penny. It is classy and has a heavy and sturdy pivot mechanism. We loved it so much we bought another one for the downstairs bath!It's sturdy and I think the best type of holder to use as no pesky springs.Truly, this is a heavy-weight, sturdy and easy to refill toilet paper holder. We purchased the brushed nickel option to match other our bathroom trim and my husband installed this (in about 20 minutes) in our 2yr old daughter's bathroom. He had never installed a toilet paper holder before, but is very hady with a drill and a level. One side went into a stud & the other side was secured with the anchors provided in the package. Anchors provided are of good quality... My daughter won't be able to pull this out of the wall. One of my most favorite aspects of this toilet paper holder is the way the bar pivots up/down, making it SUPER EASY to change the paper roll! The bar is not spring loaded (I hate those) and it DOES NOT come off if you pull the toilet paper too hard, and it DOES NOT flop out of your hands and roll away down the bathroom floor. Haha! The bar just pivots "up" and then back "down", snapping securely into place. See my photo #3. Excellent functional design & beautiful lines! Would buy over & over again!Love, love, love! Excellent product.My husband warned me about buying hardware items like the Moen Kingsley towel bars and pivoting paper holder from the internet, without seeing them first, but when I couldn't find what I wanted in stores, I went ahead and bought them from Amazon, proving him wrong, once again! The pivoting paper holder was about $25.00 cheaper than it was at Home Depot, and I didn't have to pay shipping. It's also a beautiful product; I bought it in the brushed nickel, and it's really elegant, with a soft shine, and the pivot was a revelation! (Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but after years and years of changing toilet rolls on an old-fashioned toilet roll holder, this is so easy.) All in all, I couldn't be more pleased with my purchases: They're beautiful, well-made, and look like they'll last a long time.Really nice quality from Moen. A lot of the big box stores don't carry the nicer (heavier) quality stuff in store because I guess people prefer the inexpensive stuff, but I really do think it's worth the extra $ to go for the better quality. It feels heavy and is made of metal and no plastic at all. Pivoting arm is great and convenient! Bought the matching towel ring for the same reason - the plastic "metal" ones in stores all feel so cheap and lightweight. I love the pivoting arm for the paper, makes it so nice and easy to change the roll.
